この夏、ライブが多くてうれしい！それに伴い、忙しくってテニスも週1がやっとこさってとこだ。ぐー。

先日道頓堀川で船上獅子囃子やってるとこに遭遇シマスタ。

I’m very excited about our shows in this summer. We’ll play at summer festivals and some club shows. I’m very busy to prepare them and I can’t play tennis often.

I saw Japanese traditional Shinto’s dance on the boat at Doutonbori, Osaka.

露鵬が暴れたって話題になってる。パンクや。露鵬は白露山のお兄さんなんだなー。負けてくやしーのはわかるけど、暴力はいかんなぁ。でも、「くやしー」って思う気持ちは大切だと思うなぁ。それがないと勝負師じゃないもんね。わたしもテニスで負けたときぐらいは、くやしーって思いたいもんです。がはは。音楽には勝ち負けがないからなぁ。ははは。

みなさんのForumコーナーへの書き込み読んで、こちらも元気が出るよー。

ナイフの音楽はどんな年齢にもOKだよ。へへ。

大阪のカラオケで確認されているナイフの曲は全部で5曲ぐらいかな。もっといっぱいあったらええのにな。他人事かよー。自分でツッコミ。はは。

Russhian sumo restler Rohoh broke a glass of bathroom at a gymnasium and he hit two journalist’s cheek. It’s punk. He is an elder brother of Hakurozan. Anyway, I can understand that the feeling of disappointing and anger but I don’t understand the violence.

But feeling vexation, mortification, anger and regret is important for the next step for fighters. I lack of fight when I play tennis match. Ah.

今日はたまらん暑かった。いま、夜だけどまだ暑い。コンビ二でカキ氷買って食べた。エアコンはつけっぱなし。昼寝もした。しかし、暑い。夏はいかんぜ。

It’s too hot today. Even night, it’s hot. I bought a popsicle at a convenience store. Keeping air-conditioned and took a nap. It’s summer. Too hot. I don’t like summer.

今日は712 Day!つまり「少年ナイフの日」なーのだー。そのお祝いパーティーはライブだったわけだけど、今日はホントのナイフの日です。

昨日はえっちゃんの誕生日。おめでとう!15歳の誕生日おめでとう。なーんちゃって。

みなさま、forumに書き込みありがとう！楽しく読ませてもらってます。

ああ、昨日は疲れてた。一日中モチベーション激低。ライブで疲れたせいか？しかし、いやになるほど暑いなぁ。大阪のライブの日、東京の最高気温は25度で大阪は32度だったんだって。亜熱帯化してるよな。

次は茨城県ひたちなかのRock in Japanのライブだー。がんばるぞー。

It’s a 712 day!!! I’d like to tell you the meaning of 712. The pronunciation of Shonen Knife in Japan is SHO NE N NA I FU. Knife is Na i fu. In Japanese, seven is NANA, one is ICHI and two is FUTATSU. I took NANA’s NA, ICHI’s I(EE) and FUTATSU’s FU. Then altogether is NA I FU. Seven One Two. You see?

I got tired yesterday. I think I was exhausted by 712 day party shows. Yesterday’s my motivation level was zero. Also it’s too hot and humid in Osaka. Japan, especially western Japan is getting to became subtropics.

It was Etsuko’s birthday yesterday. She became fifteen years old?! Just kidding. Ha ha ha. Happy birthday, Etsuko.

Our next show is Rock in Japan Festival in Hitachinaka, Ibaragi prefecture. I’ll rock!!!

7月9日、心斎橋クアトロのライブリハの合間に、カナダのカルガリー（昔、冬季オリンピックやったとこです）から、女の子がラジオのインタビューに来てくれたよ。

みなさまーっっっ!!!ライブに来て下さって、書き込みもしてくださってアリガトー!!!さっき家に帰って来ました。ライブはやっぱり楽しいっ！8月は4回ライブあるので楽しみっす。今日はライブの後、Posiesと晩御飯食べました。ギターの話、テニスの話等、盛り上がりました。

家に帰って早速ウインブルドン見た。もちろんナダルを応援してたんだけど、やっぱりフェデラーだったなぁ。わたしもシングルスもっとやりたいと思った。スクールだといつもダブルスだから。なんて、思ってたら相撲も始まってるし忙しいぞ。白露山とか頑張ってるね。モンゴル力士は案外とお肌が白いな。うらやましい。日本人力士にもがんばってほしいね。あ、世の中はサッカーか？！

さて、アツコはLA Womanになりますが、また帰って来ますんでよろしく。

Thank you for coming to our show!!! I’ve just came home. Live is fun. We’ll have 4 shows in August. I’m excited about them. After show today, we ate dinner with the Posies. Having talk about guitars and tennis, we had a good time.

As soon as I came home, I watched Wimbledon tennis tournament. Of course I wanted Nadal to win but Federe... I thought I’d like to play singles more. Because I always play doubles at tennis school. Oh, Sumo tournament was startd from Sunday! I’m busy for watching TV. Hakurozan, a Russian sumo restler, is doing good. Mongolian wrestler’s are not so suntaned and have beautiful skin. It’s envialble. I hope that Japanese wrestlers will have good results. Ah, everybody is keeping attention to soccer football, right?

Atsuko will be a LA Woman but she may come back to Japan sometime soon.

あつこは「LA woman」になったのだー。Doorsの曲かいっ！(^^;)

そーゆーわけで、今年の712 Day Partyはスペシャルなライブになるでしょう。なおこ、あつこ、えつこの3人での演奏はしばらくないだろうから。

でも、うまく行けば12月のSpace Christmasや来年の712 Day Partyのライブには、また、あつこが帰って来れると思うよ。

少年ナイフは、これからも更に、バリバリ、エンジン全開でやっていくのでヨロシクねっ！

I’m sure 712 day party shows this year will be very special event. Because three of us, Naoko, Atsuko and Etsuko can’t play together for a while after 712 day party shows.

But Atsuko might come back to Japan at Space Christmas and 712 Day Party 2007 shows when things goes well.

今日ラジオ生出演します。詳しくはnewsのコーナーにて。

愛染さんのお祭りに行った。生まれも育ちも、先祖代々もずーっと大阪だというのに、この大阪の3大祭りの一つ愛染さんには行ったことがなかったんだなー。住吉祭りはほぼ毎年行っているし、天神祭りも何度か行ったけどさ。

ところで、ここは神社じゃなくてお寺なんだなー。お守りを売っているゆかたギャルがいたり、演芸をやっていたり、なんだか楽しいお祭りだったなー。とってもいい雰囲気だったよ。

露店は、そのイベントによってカラーがあったり、年によって出ているものが違ったりする。それを観察するのも面白いね。ここでは「からあげ」ってのが目立った。とうもろこしや串焼肉ってのもあった。ゲーム系より食べ物系が多かったな。金魚すくいは、水槽にデカイ金魚が混ぜてあった。生きている魚恐怖症のわたしには恐怖の水槽だったなー。はは。

7月8日、9日は712 day party!!!

なんだかあわただしいなぁ。ライブの準備諸々およびウインブルドンの放送があるし、ライブもいろいろ見に行ったし、夏のバーゲンも始まったし、片付けもしないといけないし。

Ah, I’m so busy. I have to prepare for our shows, watch Wimbledon and I went to some shows of other bands. Also summer bargain sale has started and I have to tide up my room.

先日は片付けの一環で机とタンスをブッ壊した。大ぶりの金づち一本で全部簡単に壊せたんだなー、これが。物を壊すのはちょっとしたストレス解消になるな。リッチー・ブラックモアもギターを壊してストレス発散してたってわけか。

The other day, I destroyed two desks and one chest to abolish. Actually not destroy but took part. But I feel like destroy. I could break them with only one hammer. It was rather easy for me. Breaking furniture, I got rid of my stress. Richie Blackmore broke guitars and he might get rid of his stress.

世の中にはいろんなバンドがあるけど、バンドによってそのお客さんのカラーも違うんだなぁ。面白いなぁ。ビジュアル系のお客さんってファッションからして一目瞭然だけど、そういうバンドじゃなくても先日のDirty Threeのお客さんみたいにライブ会場にはアートっぽいヒッピーっぽいファッションの人でにぎわっていたり、某バンドのお客さんは比較的普通かなって人たちが大多数であったり。（なにが普通やねん？自分でつっこんでます。）

There are so many kinds of bands. Audience are the same. There are various audience depends on the charactors of bands. I can easily tell Japanese visual bands’ fans because they are wearing their own kind of clothes like antique dolls.

Audience at Dirty three show was very hippie style fashion people. Looks like artistic fasion.

The other bands’ fans was very common fashion persons. The music of the band has no artistic part.

＊visual band = sound is sometimes heavy metal style and lyrics are sometimes about love and occult.

ナイフのファンはどこの国でもステキでカッコよくて知性あふれる優しい人たちばかりです。いや、マジです。これ。

All Shonen Knife fans in the world are very cool, gentle and intelligent persons. It’s true!

オーストラリアのインストバンド、ダーティースリーのライブ見てきた。大阪での会場は南霞町のフェスティバルゲートにある「ブリッジ」。渡り廊下を利用した会場で、ライブ中、なんとなく床が揺れていて怖かった。

バンドの方は、ギター、バイオリン、ドラムスの3ピース構成。曲のタイトルとイメージを演奏前にお客さんに言ってから演奏していたので、聴いていて「はぁ、そうかー」とイメージが膨らんだ。和む中に鋭さの潜む素晴らしい演奏でした。バイオリンの人はニック・ケイヴのバンドメンバーだそうだが、ニックといえばナイフがLollaparoozaのフェスに出たとき一緒だった。ツアーバスに一緒に乗ったこともあるんだなー。

ブリッジに来ていたお客さんはみんな芸術系というか個性的というかおしゃれな人が多かったです。

I went to see three piece Australian instrument band Dirth Three at Bridge in Osaka. The club Bridge is at a passageway in the air between two buildings. The hight is about the same with 3rd or 4th floor. During the show, the floor was trembling a little. I was scared.

Dirth Three was consist of violin, guitar and drums. They introduced the song title and the image of the song then played. I could expand my imagination during songs. The violinist is a member of Nick Cave’s band, too. Talking about Nick, I saw him at Lollaparooza tour in late 90’s. We rode in tour bus together.

Most of all audience at Bridge was wearing artistic, a kind of hippie style clothes. Fashionable..

大阪、梅田のストアイベント、すげーっ、たくさんのお客さんに来ていただき感謝感謝。ライブ前、控え室で寝て夢を見たり、トイレにカバンを忘れたり、アタフタしてましたが、とにかく楽しくステージができましたーっ。カバンは元の場所ですぐ見つかりましたが。

終わってから全員で打ち上げに行きました。だいたいいつもライブの後は時間が遅くなるので、また、翌日もライブだと休息しないといけないので、打ち上げには行かないんだけど、昨日は終わる時間も早かったし、翌日は特に予定がなかったので打ち上げしました。黒ビールはおいしいなぁ。

Thank you! Thank you so much for coming to our in store at Umeda Tower Records in Osaka. I was surprised that so many people came to see us. Before our show, I took a nap at a dressing room and I had a dream. Then I left my bag at rest room. Oh no! But I noticed soon and I found my bag at the same place. I was so busy before the show. But anyway, I enjoyed our in store so much.

After the show, all of us went to eat dinner. We usually don’t go eat and drink after the shows so much because it’s always too late to go out after the show. And if we’ll have a show the next day, we have to take a rest.

We had time after the in store yesterday and we had no plan the next day then we went to eat. Black beer tasted so good.

We’ve finished in store at Nagoya. It’s midnight. I’ve just came home. Thank you for coming!!!

名古屋ではお昼ご飯に味噌カツ食べた。大阪じゃあなかなかこの八丁味噌って見かけないんだよなー。味噌煮込みうどんのお出汁もこの八丁味噌味でしょう。おいしいなー。

I ate Miso Katsu for lunch in Nagoya. Miso Katsu is a pork cutlet with soy bean sauce. The sauce is made by soy bean paste and sugar. I don’t see this kind of dark miso in Osaka. It’s called Hacchou Miso. Miso nikomi Udon noodle, boiled miso soup noodle’s soup is also made by this Hacchou Miso. It’s so tasty!!!!!

21日、アメリカのニューヨーク州バッファローのバンド、The Juliet Daggerのレコーディングに参加した。彼らはGoo Goo Dollsのベーシスト、Robbyさんがやってるレーベル所属で、レコーディングの話もRobbyから連絡が来た。 レコーディング当日、午前11時からスタート。午後7時の終了まで、びっちりフル稼働した！内容は、2曲のヴォーカル、日本語バージョンと英語バージョン、コーラスパートそしてギターリフ一箇所。 彼らは現在女性4名のバンドで、今回日本に来たのはドラマーを除く3名とスタッフ。みんな楽しい人たちで、こちらも楽しく作業させてもらった。ヴォーカルのErinはとても歌が上手だったよ。

I joined the recording with The Juliet Dagger on June 21 in Osaka. They are from Buffalo, N.Y., U.S.A. They have a deal with Good Charamal Records which is owned by Robby, the bassist form Goo Goo Dolls.

The recording sessions started from 11a.m. and finished at 7 p.m. I did a lot of work. English and Japanese vocals for two songs and a guitar rif for one song.

They are all female four piece band. For this time, three members other than the drummer came to Japan. Everyone is fun, nice person and I could enjoy the recording sesions. Erin, the vo. & guitar, is a good singre.

21日、レコーディングセッションが終わってからみんなでイタリアンを食べに行った。わたしはスモークサーモンクリームスパゲッティー。まいうー。メンバーには菜食者の人も居て、チーズだけのペンネとかを食べてはった。菜食で思い出したけど、京都、大徳寺の鉄鉢料理（テッパツ）はおいしいよねー。

そして、ビールをみんなでぐびぐび飲んた。はは。

写真はギターのアリー。2005年春のナイフアメリカツアーでRochesterへ行ったとき、Scarletsってバンドでフロントアクトとして出てたんだってー。

After the recording sessions, all of us went to eat Italian dishes. I had a smoked salmon cream sause spaghetti. It was very tasty. A few girls were vegetarians and they had cheese penne. Talking about vegetarians, I like Daitokuji Temple in Kyoto’s vegetarian dishes very much.

Then we drank beer.

昨日忙しかった余波で今日はモチベーション低かったです。ということで、明日また何か書きます。
