今日はビークルとブッチャーズとキリト小5となんばハッチでライブしたよ。ビークルもブッチャーズもキリトくんもみんなお馴染みさんなので、とても気分的にアットホームなライブだった。

ビークルのみなさん、呼んでくれてありがとね。アンコールでビークル、ブッチャーズのお三方、わたしでCureのカバーを演奏したよ。そのステージ上がわたしの嗅覚にいい刺激を与えてたなぁ。なんで聴覚じゃなくて嗅覚なのかはわからんが、とにかくすてきな感覚を満喫したよ。みんなおつかれさまでした。

さて、今はもう17日に日付が変わってる。明日から1ヶ月にわたるアメリカ&カナダツアーです。今回は久々、ツアーバスでまわります。ぼちぼちがんばってきます。でも、ライブはロックだよ！

We played with Beat Crusaders, Bloodthirsty Butchers and Kirito Sho 6 at Namba Hatch. Everybody is our friend and I felt at ease. It was like a home.

I’d like to say thank you to Beat Crusaders letting us join. All of us played The Cure’s song at the encore. I felt something confortable with my sense of nose. It’s strange expression but I felt good with sense of smell when I played the song with everybody.

It’s November 17th. We’ll start U.S. and Canada one month tour from tomorrow. For this time, we tour in a bus. Let’s ROCK at our show!

大阪の「ベアーズ」と「ファンダンゴ」この両ライブハウスが共に20周年を迎え、その記念イベント「大阪宇宙まつり」に出してもらったよ。マゾンナやら山本精一師匠のParaやら面白いバンドがいっぱい出てた。
ナイフはこの二つのライブハウスにはよく出してもらってます。20周年おめでとう。こんなにいい楽しいライブハウスが末永くがんばっててわたしもうれしいです。

Two cult clubs in Osaka called Bears and Fandango are both 20th anniversary this year. They held an anniversary show on November 11th. Shonen Knife was attended it. Mazonna, Seiichi Yamamoto’s band Para and many cult bands played. It was so fun. Shonen Knife often play the two clubs. I’m happy such two great clubs could be 20th anniversary.

先日、つかの間の休日、神戸へ遊びに行った。主に三宮近辺。大阪からちょいと行っただけなのに、大阪の街とは趣が違う。神戸はおしゃれで落ち着いていてちょっとレトロなところもあってステキ。ま、わたしは大阪のガチャガチャしたとこが性に合ってるんだけどさ。

ケーキ屋さんや喫茶店がたくさんあるし、中華街はおもしろいし、三宮の服や雑貨のお店も私にとっては目新しい。元町高架下商店街にも行ったよ。あの、ナイフのエナメルバッグをコラボで作ってくれたお店「右廻り研究所」があるんです。三宮あたりからずんずん歩いていくと、あったあった。かわいいお店です。そして表には写真のようにナイフのCDやエナメルバッグを飾ってくれてました。ありがとう。ステキ。店長さんと楽しく談笑させてもらいました。

明石焼き食べたり中華街で買い食いしたりケーキ食べたりメイド喫茶を外から覗いたりして帰りました。ライブで神戸に行ってもライブハウス以外の場所にはほとんど行く時間がないので、今回は神戸を満喫できた！是非また遊びに行きたい。

The other day, I went to Kobe. Kobe is 45 minutes by car from Osaka. Kobe is very different from Osaka. It is well-established and fashonable town. Messy noizy town Osaka is more sutable to me, though.


In Kobe, there are many sweets shops. Also China town in Kobe is fun and cloths shops are new for me. I went to Motomachi Kouka-shita shoppers, too. There is a shop called Migimawari Kenkyusho there. The shop made Shonen Knife vinyl bag. Shop owner decorated SK CDs and bags at the front of the shop. I had a chat with him. Thanks!

I ate Akashi yaki, Chinese dumplings, cakes and saw Maid Cafe and came home. I have no time to see around the town when I have shows in Kobe. I could enjoy this time. I want to go again.

ビザも取れてやれやれ。でも、11月はまだ2本ライブあるし、北米ツアーが終わってからもすぐにスペースクリスマスツアーがある。その準備も今のうちにしとかんとあかんので、あわただしいよぅ。

12月のスペースクリスマスツアーには超おしゃれな新作Ｔシャツを用意してますのでお楽しみにね。

ところで、先月半ば大阪のうつぼ公園へスーパージュニアを見に行った。その写真をアップします。
これは18歳以下のテニストーナメント。国際テニス連盟公認最高レベルの大会。ほぼ毎年見に行ってます。選手たちは
まだ中高生の年齢だけどプロに引けを取らないすごいプレーの連続だった。
刺激受けた！面白かった!!!

11日はファンダンゴ・ベアーズ開店20周年記念共同イベント「宇宙まつり」に出るよ。みんな来てね!!!

We’ve got working visas. I was busy for preparing. We have two more shows in November and right after North American tour, we tour in Japan as Space Christmas tour. I need to prepare for them. Lots of work.

We are making very cool new T-shirt. It’s super cool!

The other day, I went to see International junior tennis tournament at Utsubo Tennis Park in Osaka. Young players did good matches.

On November 11, we’ll play at Uchu Matsuri ,Universal Festival in English, it’s a 20th anniversary of rock clubs in Osaka Fandango and Bears. Come and rock!!!

Ah, how busy I am. I have to prepare for North American tour 2007. Taking working visas, ordering merch and more... I got dizzy.

Anyway, we played in Hiroshima on October 26. The venue was an old movie theater. The show was a tribute event for Ramones. Hiroshima punk band Soucho Pistons featuring Marty Friedman covered many Ramones songs. Their play was fantastic. Audience there were very lucky.

And Shonen Knife played. Our original member Atsuko came back from Los Angeles and played the bass after 7 months. We could have a very good groove naturally. Atsuko will play the bass until the end of North American tour 2007. Don’t miss our shows in Osaka, too.

After our show, Yuki who wrote a book I love Ramones also she is a photographer and I did a talk show. We talked about Ramones. She owns a Ramones fan club Japan. Japanese issue only but the book is very interesting.

For the last, a tribute movie for Johnny Ramone Too tough to die was screened. People there could enjoy Ramones a lot.

Thank you for coming. Some fans came from far away cities like Tokyo or Osaka. Thanks for Pistons and other staff.

After show, we went to eat Okonomiyaki which is a kind of Hiroshima style pancake with vegetables, sea foods, pork and noodles. It’s tasty. The dinner party was started from 12:30 p.m. and finished around 3:00. I usually went to bed around 11:00p.m. I sat up till very late.

I’m happy we could play at nice events like Aomori Rock Festival Natsu-no Mamono, New Picnic Himeji and this Ramones tribute show. I hope that we could play at cool events like these in future, too.

2007/10/30

国内ライブ、北米ツアーの準備その他諸々忙しい今日この頃。ビザの申請からＴシャツの手配など目が回るぜ全くぅ。

と、そんな中10月26日（金）広島の横川シネマでライブしてきたよ。Ramonesづくしの夢のようなイベントだった。まずは広島のラモーンズマニアのワイルドな3人組、「早朝ピストンズ」にスーパーすてきギタリストのマーティ・フリードマンが加わってRamonesのカバーを披露。いや、もう最高。これは見た人はラッキーだよ。

その後、我々の出番。場内満員熱気ムンムンの中ロックしたぞぉ。ベースは7ヶ月ぶりにアツコが弾いたよ。20数年も一緒にやってるので7ヶ月空いたぐらいじゃギャップも何も感じなくて、とても自然にいいグルーブが出たと思います。北米ツアーまではアツコがベース弾くので、大阪のライブもお見逃しなく。

我々のライブが終わってからは、Ramonesのことを書いた本「I Love Ramones」の著者で写真家のユキさんと私のトークショー。Ramonesに関しておしゃべりしました。「I Love Ramones」は、すごく面白い本だよ。Ramonesについて知りたい人は是非読んでみよう。

最後はJohnny Ramoneトリビュート映画「Too tough to die」の上映。盛りだくさんの内容だった。

来て下さったお客さん、ありがとう。東京や大阪からわざわざ出向いてくださった方々も。主催の早朝ピストンズを始めスタッフのみなさんもありがとう。

わたしは普段は早寝早起きでライブの後もわりとすぐ寝てるんだけど、この日は珍しく深夜3時過ぎまで起きてました。というのも広島のお好み焼きで打ち上げをしたんだなー。広島のお好み焼き大好き！また食べたい!

今年は楽しいイベントにいっぱい出してもらえてハッピーです。青森のロックフェス「夏の魔物」といい姫路の「New Picnic」といい今回のRamonesのイベントといい手作りの良さが出たイベントだったと思う。これからもそんな面白いイベントにどんどん出られたらいいなぁ。

ああ、涼しくて爽やかないい気候だ。来週は広島ライブ。Johnny Ramoneトリビュートライブの映画とのコラボイベントだよ。面白いイベントなので、みんな来てね！
と、その前にLoudpark見に行くゾ。Heaven and Hell（Dio時代のBlack Sabbathです。）楽しみだ！

It’s getting cooler. The weather is beautiful. We’ll play in Hiroshima next week. The show will be held at movie theater and after our show, a film Too tough to die will be screened. It is a movie of a tribute show for Johnny Ramone. Everybody come!

I’m gonna go to Loudpark. It’s a heavy metal music festival. Heaven and Hell (Dio years’ Black Sabbath) wiil play. I can’t wait to see them!

6日のベアーズライブの前々日と前日と翌日はテニスをした。8月、9月は夏バテおよびライブラッシュでテニスができなかったので体が鈍っていた。3回立て続けに運動すると、出てくる汗がだんだんサラサラになってくるのがわかる。それに多少のことじゃ息切れしなくなるねん。

と、そんな元気ハツラツな状態で挑んだのは、歴史に名を刻むであろう世紀のイベントNew Picnic。これは、Acid Mother TempleやDMBQそして山本精一師匠などそうそうたるメンツが揃って出演した華麗なるノイズサイケロックフェス。そして会場がすごかった。「太陽公園」は縮小版の天安門広場から兵馬俑、モアイ像、ピラミッド、ヘンゼルとグレーテルのお菓子の家などなんでもありの楽しい場所。なんと、そのイベントの「トリ」が少年ナイフだったというこれまた物凄い事実。お客さんもみんなおしゃれだった。

朝、かなり雨が降ってたので、会場を当初予定していた野外の「天安門広場」から屋内の「兵馬俑」に変更、そのためイベントの進行が遅れてちょっとあせったけど、9曲、全力でぶっ飛ばしたよ。会場の雰囲気はすこぶるよかった。見てくれたお客さん、ありがとう。

このイベントはほんとに面白かった。スタッフのみなさん、おつかれさんでした。来年もし開催されるなら、是非また出たいです。出られなくてもお客さんとして絶対行くぞ。

I played tennis on October 4, 5 and 7. And on October 6, I had a show at Bears in Osaka, Namba. I couldn’t play tennis so much in August and September because of I had a lot of shows and got tired of the summer heat. I had insufficient exercise. After I played tennis three days, my sweat became clean. And I’ve motivated.

Having high energy, I performed at New Picnic which might be a historical rock festival. Acid Mother Temple, DMBQ, Seiichi Yamamoto and many other cool bands played there. The venue was very cool, too. It called Taiyo Koen which means Sun Park. There are many mini size of Terracottas and buildings in the park. Chinese Terracottas, Mexican ones, the moai satued, a pyramid, a triumphal arch and so on. It was fun place. Shonen Knife played the heasliner, yeah! Most of all audience were vey fashionable.

In the morning, we had a hard rain and the site was changed from outdoor to indoor. In the afternoon, the rain was stopped, though. Then the program was delayed and I was hasty but we could play fantastic show. The atmosphere was so nice.

Thank you for coming to the show and thank you for stuff of this event. I’d like to join this event if it will be held next year.

昨日は大阪難波の「ベアーズ」でライブだったよ。ベアーズ開店20周年おめでとう。ライブはたっぷり1時間以上演奏しました。お客さんもたくさんニコニコ見てくれていて、すこぶるうれしかった！
最近発掘された激レアポスターがグッズコーナーにお目見えしました。こちらの手元にまだ少し残っているので12月に名古屋、東京にも持って行きたいと思います。おたのしみに。
いよいよ明日10月8日は伝説的イベントが姫路の太陽公園で開催されるよ。

We played at Bears in Namba, Osaka. It became 20th anniversary. Congratulations. Our set was over 60 minutes. Everybody there seemed having fun. I was so happy about that.

We sold our vintage posters which we found at our old office. We still have some and will bring them to Nagoya and Tokyo at our Space Christmas tour in December.

Tomorrow, October 8th, a historical rock festival New Picnic will be held.

映画、Too tough to die見たよ。面白かった。泣けた。上映会のトークイベントに出してもらたんで、その前にDVD見せてもらった。Johnny Ramoneってすごい人だったんだーって思ったよ。

最近購入したCDはThe AnswerのRise、Black SabbathのThe Dio Years、Ozzy OsbourneのBlack Rain。メタルに片寄ってるねェ。がははは。全部すごーく好きです。

I watched the tribute movie for Johnny Ramone Too tough to die. It was interesting and it made me cry. I’ve got DVD from the promoter of the movie. ’Cos I appeared on the talk session of it. It made me realize that Johnny Ramone was great.

I bought these CDs recently. Riseof The Answer, The Dio Years of Black Sabbath and Black Rain of Ozzy Osbourne. Everything is Metal. Wow! All of them are nice albums.

酷暑だった大阪も朝晩はかなり涼しくなってきた。たいへんうれしい！暑い夏はいやや。

久々アツコが帰国してベース弾きます。みなさんお楽しみにね。アメリカ＆カナダツアーも決定!!毎度毎度、毎日ライブと移動の連続という過酷な行程ではありますが、各地でナイフが来るのを待ってくださってるお客さんに会えるのは楽しみなことダス。みんな待っててね。

It is getting just a little cooler in Osaka. I don’t like Japanese hot and humid summer.

Atsuko will come back and play the bass after a long time. Please enjoy her performance.

U.S. and Canada tour 2007 will be fixed. Everytime, the tours have very hard schedule. travel, show, travel, show, travel, show... But I can’t wait to see you guys in North America.

この日の会場は吉祥寺スターパインズカフェ、バルコニーのあるすてきな場所だったよ。「chicks Riot」は、女の子バンドばかりのイベント。ファッションショーもあった。写真のとおり、面白かったス。このイベントは、工夫が利いてて楽しめた！私、女の子バンドって好きなんだなぁ。

We played at Star Pine’s Cafe in Kichijoji, Tokyo. It has a balcony and was a fancy place. The show Chicks Riot was all female bands show. Fashion show was held, too. See the photo. I like all female bands.

2007/09/19

ネットのブラウザ関連のイベントだったよ。たくさん面白いバンドが出たね。わたしらはサウンドチェックを終えたあと、急に決まった取材や打ち合わせが3件あって、超バタバタしたよ。写真撮影もありました。あっという間に本番の時間になって、30分間ぶっ飛ばしたよ。ライブが進めば進むほど会場とステージのグルーブが増していった！すごくいい雰囲気だったね。

ライブの後、わたし1人で渋谷のシネセゾンへ。11時半からRamonesの映画「Too tough to die」の上映前のトークイベントに出演した。写真家の畔柳ユキさんが司会で、SUGOIギタリストのマーティ・フリードマン氏とわたしがラモーンズと自分とのエピソードなど話した。私はラモーンズのフロントアクトを大阪でやって、そのあとハードロックカフェで打ち上げに行き、メンバーと直接しゃべったことやら、ジョーイとロサンゼルスで、マーキーとニューヨークでそれぞれと同じステージで歌って演奏した思い出などをしゃべった。マーティとも久しぶりに会えてよかった。彼は、ナイフのライブに2回出てくれたことあるねん。

大変めまぐるしい一日だったけど、面白いことがいっぱいですごくよかったス。

This festival was an Internet browser’s one. Many fun bands played there. After our sound check, we had 2 interviews, photo sessions and 1 appointment. We were so busy. The time passed very quickly and our show time had came. We played as hard as we can for the 30 minutes set. We’ve got a very good vibe from audience.

After the show, I went to a movie theater in Shibuya by myself. I had appeard on a talk show before the Ramones movie called Too tough to die. Yuki Kuroyanagi who is a photographer presided and interviewed to the super guitarist Marty Friedman (he had played the guitar at SK show twice) and me. Both of us talked about the episodes with Ramones. I talked about my memory when Shonen Knife opened up for the Ramones show in Osaka and we went to Hard Rock Cafe with them. And I talked about when I played with Joey in Los Angeles and with Marky in N.Y

It was busy day but I could have many interesting things.

2007/09/10

9月8日(土)お昼の3時から、大阪梅田Tower Records Nu茶屋町店でストアイベントやったよ。おしゃべりも交えて、ギター、ベース、パーカッション（タンバリンとマラカス）のセットで。お客さん、多数ご来場ありがとうござんした。終わってからのサイン会には長い列ができた。お待たせしてすみませんでした。中には岡山からぶどうのお土産を持ってきてくださった方もおられました。ありがとう。おいしかったです。

ところでわたし、毎朝くだものを2種類食べるようにしてますねん。バナナとその季節のもの。夏はあまりくだものの種類がないように思うな。それにすぐ痛んじゃうし。でも、秋はぶどう、なし、ももなどが出てきておいしいよね。冬はりんごがおいしくなる。

さて、ストアイベント終了後はみんなで打ち上げに行って歓談したよ！西日本ツアーもストアイベントも終わったのでひと段落したからね。ツアー中は翌日のライブや移動があるので、なるべく長く睡眠時間を取りたいという理由から、ライブ終了後は宿に帰ってすぐ寝てる。だから打ち上げは基本やらないんですわ。わたしは個人的には朝型人間だしね。

さあ、今週末は712 day party以来ちょっぴり久しぶりの東京だ。15日(土)渋谷と16日（日）吉祥寺でライブです。おっ、そうだ15日の深夜は渋谷で、ラモーンズの映画「Too tough to die」の上映前のトークショーにも出るよ。スーパーギタリスト、マーティ・フリードマン氏とのトークです。マーティと最初に会ったのは、1994年だか1993年にロサンゼルスでプロモビデオ撮影中に遊びに来てくれたときだった。ギターケースに日本語でサインしてもらったよ。

じゃあ、東京のライブ盛り上がりたいので、みんな来てねーっ！
