2019年は日本国内はもとより、ヨーロッパ、英国、北米、オセアニアとツアーをして、年間で合計約100回近くライブをしました。お誘いがある限り、待っていてくれるお客さんがおられる限りは、ライブをしたい、いつまでできるかわからないから、と思って、あつことりさちゃんとの3人組でツアーに出た次第です。
We toured a lot in 2019. Not only Japan but Europe, UK, North America and Oceania and did mostly 100 shows in total. I wanted to play so long as if people invite us and if there were people who want to see our show. Also I can’t tell until when I can continue to play. That’s why I toured a lot with Atsuko and Risa.

このまま2020年もぶっ飛ばすぞと思ってたら、春先にややこしい病気が世界に蔓延。3月1日にオーストラリアのパースで行われたAC/DCの大イベントに呼んでもらい、奇跡的に出演できましたが、帰国後しばらくして緊急事態宣言が出てあれよあれよという間に外出自粛なんて事に。
I planed to keep on rockin’ again in 2020 but the illness pandemic started from early spring in the world. We could safely played at Perth Festival of AC/DC event which we invited. It was a miracle but after we went back to Japan, “lock down” was started.
*Japanese lock down is not so strict like western countries. People just refrain from go out voluntarily.

その後ライブが無くて、10月9日に7か月ぶりにイベントに呼んでもらい、ライブができました。その日のブログ↓

さて、今回のライブは、去年の秋にイベンターのSmash West岩井くんから少年ナイフもワンマン配信ライブをしてはどうかと提案があり、企画してくださったものです。ライブのタイトルは私が名付けた「The Cyber Show」。サイバースペースで行われるライブだから。そして、「The Ed Sullivan Show」エド・サリヴァンショーみたいな言葉の響きにしたかったから。
去年の秋の段階では、ロサンゼルス在住のオリジナルメンバーあつこに帰国してもらって、りさちゃんと私の3人、つまり通常の海外ツアーのラインナップでライブをしようと思っていました。でも、冬になって状況が変わって海外との行き来が難しくなり断念。それならば、日本在住組4名で去年10月のイベントで行ったセットをバージョンアップした出し物にすることにしました。
4人でスタジオに入ってリハーサル、そして全世界に向けてプロモ映像を撮りました。
By the way, this show was planned by Keita from our booking agent and promoter Smash West. He offered that how about Shonen Knife do one-man live streaming show. We started this project from the autumn 2020. I put the name for this show as “The Cyber Show” because it is held in the cyber space. I also wanted to put a name sounds like “The Ed Sullivan Show”.
We had a plan to invite our original member Atsuko from Los Angeles when we started the project in the autumn 2020. But the number of infected person increased in winter, it became difficult that people enter into Japan from overseas and we gave up to invite Atsuko. Then I decided to play as 4 piece line-up like the show on 9th October 2020. Of course we version upped the set.
ライブ当日、2021年3月6日（土曜日）、朝ご飯はたらこマヨトースト。トーストの端にたらこを置いたのは、そこだけ先に食べて、残りの部分にはちみつをつけようと思ったから。ライブ開始時間が午後4時半と早いので、食べ物を買いに行く時間がなかったらあかんので、白ご飯のおにぎりを1個作って会場へ持っていきました。ライブ前は炭水化物摂った方がエネルギーになるんとちゃうやろかと思って。
On the show day Saturday 6th March 2021, I had Tarako Mayo Toast. I put Tarako on the side of the bread because I eat the part of Tarako first and wanted to put some honey on the leftover. The show time was early. It was 4:30pm Japan Time. I was wondering if I don’t have time to get food and I made a rice ball and took it to the venue. I thought carbohydrate will be energy quickly.
スタッフのみなさんは朝の10から仕込み開始。メンバーは午後1時入り。
All crew started to prepare the show from 10am. Band members went to the venue at 1pm.
まずは、サウンドチェック。あごマスクでシャウト。
First, we did soundcheck. I shouted with putting my mask on my chin.
その後、グッズコーナーの設営。

ライブがない期間中に「甘飴力 キャンディーストラップ」をたくさん作成しました。添えている絵も一枚一枚手描きです。
During the term of “no shows”, I made many “Sweet Candy Power, Candy Strap”. I drew every drawings by hands.

今回のライブを記念して、ロボットTシャツも作りました。90年代に作ったロボットTシャツをコンセプトとして新たに手描きしました。
We made a new T-shirt for this show. Inspired from a Robot T in early 90’s, I drew this “Robot T” .

ライブストリーミング以外に、会場に来ていただいたお客さんには、座席の間隔を開けて、着席の状態で、ライブ中は無言で見ていただきました。
Beside of live streaming, we had real audience. We asked to the audience that to be seated with social distancing, staying at the seat and no shout during the show.
