October 17 Arrival day in Adelaide, Australia

朝8時半にアデレード空港に到着。機械化されたゲートを通り、入国審査通過。飛行機で預けた荷物が出てくるのに約1時間ほどかかった。出口でテレサさんが待っててくれた。その後まもなくして、米国ロサンゼルスからメルボルン経由でアデレードに来たあつこが到着。

Arrived at Adelaide airport at 8:30. We got through the automatic immigration. It took an hour to collect our luggage at the baggage claim. We met Teresa at the gate and Atsuko arrived from Los Angeles via Melbourne.

テレサの運転で、ホテルへ向かう途中に携帯ショップに連れてもらってSIMカードを購入。その後、チェックイン。荷物を置いてメンバー3人で昼食を食べに日本料理店へ行った。あつことりさちゃんは唐揚げ弁当。

Teresa drove us to a cell phone shop. I bought a SIM card. Then we checked in the hotel and dropped off our luggage. Then we went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. Atsuko and Risa had Karaage chicken bento.

わたしは鶏マヨプレート。すごくおいしかった！

I had chicken mayo plate. It was so tasty!

そのあと、食料の買い出しへ。

After that, we went to buy food.

素敵な市場がある。

There was a nice market.

この辺りは中華街。

It’s a China town around here.

カラッとして、良い天気。日なたは温かく、日陰は肌寒い。

The weather was dry and sunny. Warm in the sun cold in the shade.

日本で大ブームのタピオカドリンクを買った。わたしはへそ曲がりなので、流行っていると買わない。だから日本ではタピオカドリンクが流行った後は買ったことがなかった。でも、こちらでは流行っていないので？！買った。とにかく、おいしい。

I bought a cup of Boba Tea. I’m a contrary person and I usually won’t buy things in fashion. So I’d never bought it after it became popular but it seemed that it wasn’t so popular here. I bought it. Anyway, it was tasty.

楽しい。Fun!

中華系パン屋さんで明日の朝に食べるパンを買った。

I bought pastries at a Chinese bakery for tomorrow’s breakfast.

一旦ホテルの戻って1、2時間お昼寝した。気がついたら寝ていた状態。昨日は飛行機であまり寝る時間がなかったからね。ちなみに、飛行機では、映画「Yesterday」と「劇場版　ファイナルファンタジー　XIV 光のお父さん」を見ることができたけど。目が覚めてスッキリしてお腹が空いたので、あつこと再び食品買い出しへ。

We went back to the hotel and I took a nap for 1 or 2 hours. I fell asleep without conscious. Because I couldn’t sleep well in the airplane. But I could watch 2 movies. “Yesterday” and “Final Fantasy Hikari-no-Otosan”. I refreshed after a nap and got hungry. I went to a supermarket to buy something to eat with Atsuko.

スーパーマーケットの店先に少年ナイフのポスターが貼ってあった。

I found our poster on the wall at the supermarket.

パンとハムとチーズを購入。隣でワインも買った。あつこはここで先にホテルに帰った。

I bought ham and cheese. I bought a bottle of wine at a shop next door. Atsuko went back to the hotel.

わたしはお散歩へ。こちらは春。

I took a walk by myself. It’s spring here.

マップで、「姫路ガーデン」と言う文字を見つけて気になっていたので行ってみた。

I found “Himeji Garden” on the map and got interested. I walked to come to the garden.

ここは何処なんだ？！と思うような立派な日本庭園があった。兵庫県姫路市とアデレードが姉妹都市になった記念に、1982年に作られたそう。お散歩で憩いのひと時を過ごしてホテルへ帰還。

I felt like I was in Japan. The garden was beautiful. It was build for the anniversary of that Himeji city and Adelaide became sister cities in 1982. I relaxed by walking and went back to the hotel.
