From Sellersville to Fishkill

Fishkill is a calm town. 

セラーズビルからフィッシュキル

フィッシュキルって日本語にすると魚殺？！その名に反して穏やかな町です。

今日は移動日。移動日と言っても約3時間、優しい距離です。

It’s a travel day. Only 3 hours drive is easy for us. 

途中で寄ったサービスエリア。なかなかおしゃれ。

Truck stop on the way was fancy. 

到着後、遅いお昼ご飯を食べにタイ料理店へ。

After arrived, we went to a Thai restaurant for late lunch. 

I had chicken and vegetables with peanut sauce. It was sweet and delicious. 

わたしは、鶏と野菜のピーナツソース。甘くておいしかったです。

食事の後、Walmartへ買い出し。ものすごく広い。トリートメントとフルーツジュースを買いました。

We went to Walmart for shopping. It’s very huge. I bought hair treatment and fruits juice. 

本日のお宿は台所とリビングが付いたスイートルーム。

Today’s hotel is suite. This room has kitchen and living room. 

時間があったのでお洗濯も済ませた。スッキリ。

We had time and did laundry. Clean clothes make me happy. 

ツアーに持って来たら便利なものを紹介します。それは、エコバッグ。このムーミンバッグは、くるっと丸めてたためます。四、五年前にフィンランドでお客さんに頂いたもの。洗濯物入れるのにも役に立つし、お買い物の時にも重宝します。

I introduce useful goods for touring. It’s eco bag. It can be folded. I got this Mooning bag from our fan in Finland 4, 5 years ago. This is good for laundry or shopping. 

夕食は、部屋でご飯を炊きました。

I made boiled rice for dinner in the hotel room. 

今回初登場の電子レンジ用炊飯容器「ちびくろちやん」一合炊き。ツアー前に買いました。

I bought this plastic boiled rice cooker before the tour. 

お米を研いで水に浸けていざ炊飯！日本の電子レンジだと500ワットを選択した場合、約10分加熱だけど、アメリカのレンジはだいたい1000ワットぐらいなので、その半分くらいの時間加熱した。しばらく蒸らして蓋を開けたら、ほかほかのご飯が出来上がり！感動の瞬間！

Washed and soaked rice then steam! Heat at 500 watts for 10 minutes in Japan but microwave in the U. S. usually 1000w. Heating can be shorted. May be half. I ripen it for a while and ‘Open sesame!’  Wow! There was beautiful steamed rice appeared! I was so happy!

ラップも持って来ておにぎりを作りました。

I brought Japanese cling film and made rice balls. 

ちびくろちやん用にメッシュポーチ、ふきん、水だけで洗えるスポンジも持参。

と言うところで、そろそろ寝ます。おやすみなさい。

I also brought mesh porch, small towel and sponge which can wash dishes without detergent from Japan. Perfect!
